Lucinda Williams plays 2 nights at London's Brooklyn Bowl and Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM has a pair of tickets to give away for Friday 22nd January and playing tracks by living legend Lucinda.
Due to popular demand we are reviving our 'Celluloid Country' feature where we look at a film which significantly features Americana, Roots or Country in the soundtrack.
We also have a veritable 'brokeback mountain' of brand new and upcoming releases for 2016 ioncluding Aoife O'Donovan, Austin Lucas, John Moreland, Malcolm Holcombe and lots more.
As always Bonanza & Son showcases the best of all the new and upcoming Americana, Country & Roots releases.
And of course it wouldn't be Bonanza & Son without lots of old vinyl that we've picked up along the Americana highway that is the past week of Bonanza & Son's crate digging and record buying plus selections from our trusty record shelves at home including a rare early 70's LP that describes itself as a 'Progressive Country Anthology'.

"Quiet" not meant t'be in quotes. Obviously. It's a times like these...
Lovely first track. Nice n' calm and "quiet In The Magic Hour". Appropriate: Bowie had just passed. T.W Duke never quite did Americana, But he mentions Van Ronk, much loved by Tom Russell. And Gardenia by Iggy Pop has echoes of the genre...as does much else of by Bow' Pop & Reed. St. Pancras Old Church...I've not had the pleasure.
