“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May”
Here’s some mixes you won’t want to shake a spear at. All the mixes for this month of May have a relaxing, summery, picnic sensibility about them. We delve into the psychedelic with the ‘Total Niceness Show;’ we’re two-stepping on street corners with Street Soul and even meditating in Room 2 with some Dubstep.

Total Niceness Show – Beltane Edition
Welcoming in summer has never been easier. Indulge in this joyous and uplifting mix of Folk, Neo-Psychedelia and Chillout. Featuring an amazing Balearic cover of Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy,’ it’s sure to tickle the senses. Total Niceness is the radio and podcast arm of Palmyra, a record label based in the North West of England. One of the three musketeers in our Support team, Sophie, described this mix as “good springtime vibes that’s great to listen to when drinking your coffee.”
Simon Arnoldi – High Summer House
There’s something about dreamy, chuggy House music and sunshine that go together like cheese and chutney. If you’re working or lounging out having a picnic, this summery mix from Simon Arnoldi will be the perfect soundtrack. This was a guest mix for the Vinyl Horizons radio show hosted by Justyn de Looze on Radio Bath. Ricky, our Product Designer, found this one through a local connection. “Simon (of Far Call Records) runs a night called Vinyl Gathering out here in the West Country,” he said. “He recently uploaded this festival season ready mix that I’ve had on repeat for a week.”
Amy Blake Show – Episode 3
In the mood for some brand new bright and easy Indie music? You have to make your way to Amy Blake’s corner of the internet. Amy’s only been curating radio shows on Mixcloud for a month and writes about all the music from the shows on her Substack. Emily, who heads up our amazing Support team, “loved this thoughtfully-curated Indie show, including an unbelievable cover of Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’ by Mr. Little Jeans. I even discovered a local band to love, Fright Years. Excited to catch them the next time they play back home!”
Eyesa – Basslines and Raindrops
The hypnotic world of Dubstep. Before Skrillex & co. took the sound into its glitch-era, it was deep, wobbly and even soothing. Eyesa from Bristol, the capital of Bass in the UK, has managed to tap into that ethereal space of Dubstep which feels magical and meditative. There’s also times when it gets heavy, like the rain in the West of England. Yemi, our Blog editor, picked this one out and described it as “sweaty Room 2 vibes”. He imagines further: “Perfect sound system, not a care in the world. That’s the vibe I get listening to this. Eyesa put her foot through this mix.”
RAMBEAT – B4 Piano Day 2026 Selection (25.03.26)
How much do you love the piano? I bet you didn’t know that World Piano Day was on the 88th day of the year (28th March) to honor the 88 keys on a standard piano! Our always-on-the-keys Senior Mobile Developer, Julian, picked this one out. “I was looking for piano day mixes recently and found this great one from Polish radio station RAMBEAT,” he said, “A lovely mix of styles with which to enjoy this timeless instrument.”
Jaysoul – Street Soul Special
Street Soul. The original DIY bedroom genre. Whilst the UK basked in the Acid House movement there was another sound rising from Black inner city neighbourhoods. Hip-Hop inspired drum-machine rhythms, Reggae-influenced bass, and 1980s synth riffs topped with sweet, soaring vocals, UK Street Soul was born from the clubs, blues parties and pirate radio. I’ve been in love with Street Soul since I first heard Loose Ends’ ‘Hanging On A String’ a few years ago. Jaysoul’s mix is as good as it gets!
Country Radio – 011
Selected by another of our amazing Support team, Country Radio is a new Mixcloud profile “created by humans”. They play everything from Indie Rock and Hip-Hop to Jazz and Soul. Their weekly selections are eclectic and focused on new music. Calum said: “I was blessed to find this mix which includes tracks from artists I haven’t listened to regularly in a few years, and has inspired me to do some catching up.”
Brother Bruce – The New Blues Episode 316
Bringing the best music from all over the world together for the last six years Brother Bruce is a seriously underrated curator. Laurie – our undefeated champion of the underdogs – said this mix is “three hours of seriously good Jazz spanning avant-garde, free improv, and global sounds including Coltrane, Sun Ra, Steve Lacy, Mulatu Astatke and more.”
