Why Mixcloud Doesn’t Train AI Models On Your Music

We celebrate human connection through music.

AI is a hot topic these days, and many Mixclouders have asked where we stand on it.

We believe creators should be respected for their efforts in making music, DJ mixes, radio shows and podcasts.

Because of this strongly held belief, we do not use your music to train generative AI models.

We believe that music connects us as humans. We celebrate the personal elements of creation and curation. We are building a space where every DJ, musician, radio host, genre and nascent sound can thrive and grow without fighting algorithms.

We are here to champion the uniqueness of music creation and curation powered by people. The differences in individuals who blend music with care and bring their own interpretations to the world.

We have a deep, personal relationship with music, which is why we have never built an “AI DJ” to attempt to replace humans, or trained generative AI models without your consent.

Historically, Mixcloud has been a pioneer in respecting the copyrights of musicians, artists and songwriters featured within radio shows and mixes. We licensed music for presenters and DJs to curate and share new sounds, and built content ID technology to pinpoint tracks played across the platform.

We have done this with the best interests of all music creators in mind, and will continue to do so in the future as we build a home for you to share the music you love.
