I felt like I needed to atone for the shameless cheese of my last upload (I love it, dont hate me), so this time I dialled back the tempo and put together some techno to chill out to. I admit that I had an absolute mare mixing this. You'd think that slower would be easier, but it really seems to be more about what you're used to. I'm accustomed to beatmatching music in the 170-180bpm range and I found it really hard to wrap my brain around this at a more leisurely 150-155bpm (ok, I know that's still not exactly slow). It took a lot of practice to get my ear in.
The mix is named in honour of DJ Fury's mix from the Off Yer Nut!! 2 triple CD back in 1997. He did something similar with a slowed down techno set and I loved it. It featured a few of the same tracks, such as Judgement Day by Ramos, Supreme & UFO, and Sanctus Dominus by Helix & Fury, but they're great tracks so why not?
