The Same Dream Every Night
by Abigail Ward
Second hour from my recent set at YES is here.
Starts in the deep end with shadowy grooves from Androo and Klangkollektor, two operators I’ve been levitating to a lot lately. Then the night cracks open: afro-funk, seventies hip hop, electro (the good kind). Two incidents of note. One: someone brought me a Magnum ice lolly mid-set. A first. I DJ’d one-handed, fighting chocolate fallout and maintaining dignity under pressure (possibly). Two: Some heads stopped by to see Orions Belte, which pushed me into stranger psilocybin guitar terrain. That part comes in the next upload. The new Creative Use twelve was a real weapon. And the B Music crew were upstairs, dragging in their open-eared faithful, shifting the room’s pulse in all the right ways.
