Blues on the Ceiling
I have flu today, so I thought it the perfect time to upload this 2011 mix of feverish, spooky blues.
Notes:
'Ain't Gonna Hush' by Cordella De Milo was penned as a fiery response to the preceding track 'Honey, Hush' by Johnny Burnette, who is heard, rather ominously, advising his lady to 'stop all that yakety yak' because he's 'holding a baseball bat'.
There is a cameo appearance from freckly goddess Julianne Moore - a lift from the film Magnolia, and one of her finest on-screen breakdowns.
My favourite moment on the whole mix is when Lee Hazlewood drawls, 'Whose barn? My barn!' on 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On'. Filthy.
