We all know what it’s like to have junk in our house. We rationalize it, too. Maybe it holds a special value. Sometimes it’s just a comfortable t-shirt, or shoes. Sometimes it’s an old memorabilia item that’s fallen apart. Maybe it’s a piece of junk that you picked up somewhere in hopes of one day restoring it.
But when it comes to our lives, we hold on to the junk of our previous lives, our lives before we met Jesus. We hold onto the sins and pleasures
of this world, and we don’t let go. And even though we say we love Jesus and we want to follow Him and want His best for our lives, we still hold on to that junk: the pride, the hate, the fear, the worry, the pessimism. It’s all junk, but we don’t let it go. As a result, our lives are filled with stuff that shouldn’t be there. We hold onto the junk, not knowing there is something better if we will only live as we are: different.
This series is about living up to that difference. It’s about recognizing that not only should
