It has been a privilege to follow and study this music for nearly 30 years. Those of us that were around at the turn of the century had the unique opportunity to witness what IMHO was the peak of this movement. Small gatherings in the bush, absolute focus on music, the journey from the night to the morning and the discovery of new and challenging sounds. We came with something to offer and we danced as hard as we could. We laughed with our friends and we believed in the moment.
The genius of Posford, the intensity of 3D Vision, the sheer class of Logic Bomb and X-Dream, the raw power of GMS and the peak of the Israeli movement. I've tried to capture a glimpse of what it sounded like, what it felt like and how it made us move. On the cusp of the release of my first album in 15 years, I've taken an opportunity to look back.
A Map of Everything by Benza will be released really soon on Psy-Harmonics Records.
