Hailing from the city of San Francisco as one of the seminal artists in the funky disco house scene San Francisco has become known for, Jonny Phelps, under the production names Jonene, Jonny Kaboom and Manwhore ( collaboration with Joey Youngman ), has played a key role as an artist, promoter and producer for more than two decades. With over 60 releases and remixes over the past 20 years you may seen or heard his productions on labels such as Double Down, Music For Freaks, Tronicsole, iRecords, Roam Records, Aroma, After School, Uniform, Mouthful Music, Muzique Boutique, Chicagos own very limited and rare AREA DJ 7" series and his own imprints Panhandle Records and Safe In Sound Music. Jonene's music has also been selected for many CD mix series compilations by some of the worlds best DJs like Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Raoul Belmens (Swirl People), Miguel Migs, Jay-J & Rasoul.
