SERINOQUE

It is a genre of traditional Canarian folklore, which is present on the island of La Palma, and is part of what is known as drumming folklore. It is a genre to which a pre-colonial origin is attributed, based on the etymology of the name (sirir-nek, i.e. "your dance", or sirir-noqque, "dance of the worm"), its primitive appearance, the intonation when singing and the similarities of the dance steps with the pre-colonial dances described by chroniclers.
