Velvet Fire

Three fires, many textures:

Velvet Fire moves through three distinct peaks—each one rising with its own heat. Between them, velvety valleys: sultry ballads, deep bass, tranquil instrumentals. Recorded live at Denver Zouk Marathon 2025, it’s my most diverse set to date - featuring everything including trance, tarraxo, ghettozouk, hip hop, and even swing, woven into a journey that breathes, burns, and softens.

For the DJ nerds: I experimented with slow transitions using reverb and delay on individual stems—though I’ll admit I went a little heavy on the reverb (no monitor to hear how it landed). I also played with a new structure: aiming for more than two energetic peaks while maintaining cohesion through at least one consistent element—be it genre, energy, or key—to emulate smoothness throughout. If I switched genres, I would maintain energy/key. If I switched energy, I would keep genre/key. For me, it keeps the set feeling smooth despite very drastic switches.
