Over the years I've moved along with times, embraced CDJs. I've spent hours upon hours and days on end editing loops and getting them into a workable order on Ableton Live to get into controllerism for a live remix performance, then incorporating Live into a CDJ set up to go from DJing to remixing and back again.
Regardless of how many tools and options that have been made available since I first learned to beatmix, my most favoured way to DJ has always been and always will be with vinyl. That's why Serato Scratch was the most important product of the the digital revolution me.
I often use the loop and effects in Serato but I recorded this house set just as I'd have done 15 years ago if I'd bought the vinyl instead of downloading the mp3s. No sync buttons, no loops and no effects. Just pitch up & down, volume, EQs and most importantly to me the touch of the record spinning which is all I've ever really wanted.
