What’s so funny about this? Do you know a “know-it-all”? This is someone who is exactly what the three words describe. It’s a person who thinks they are smarter than everyone else, always has an opinion and never cares about anyone else’s ideas and opinions. One of the good things about the internet and the information age is that with Google and other search engines, it’s finally possible to challenge these characters when they pontificate on some subject or other. “Pontificate” is a particularly appropriate word here because it’s what the Pope does. The Pope, as a spokesman for god is considered infallible. Nothing he says can be disputed. And this is exactly what know-it-alls do. They think their word is the law and their knowledge is perfect. Of course it’s not. That’s the main reason that Popes really don’t say too much. The Pope is a religious leader and in our cartoon today we see
