What’s so funny about this? If you’re my age or even 10-15 years younger, you will probably recognize this cartoon image. However since most of you are younger than this, let me introduce you to “Uncle” Scrooge McDuck, “The richest duck in the world” and the uncle of Donald Duck. The character was created by the artist, Carl Barks, for Walt Disney comic books, in 1952.. In researching this podcast, I discovered that apparently, Uncle Scrooge is still around and being published as a comic book. That’s absolutely amazing to me. So perhaps you and even your children have seen him. He gets his name from the Mr. Scrooge character in the Charles Dickens’ novel ,A Christmas Carol. In the cartoon you see Uncle Scrooge enjoying himself, diving and swimming in his money pit or vault. His nephew, Donald sits and watches him. Uncle Scrooge is sharing a bit of his philosophy of life with Donald (who is poor; Scrooge does not share his wealth with anyone). He tells him that we all live by the Golden
