HEADLINE ON DOCTOR’S WEBSITE: “THIS TYPE OF WORKOUT TENDS TO BURN FAR MORE CALORIES THAN OTHERS — THANKS TO THE CALORIES YOU BURN AFTER YOUR HEART STOPS PUMPING.”
What’s so funny about this? I had to read this headline a couple of times before I realized why I was confused. Apparently some diet/exercise doctor on the web is advertising that he has the most effective workout ever created. His claim is that it burns more calories than any other type of workout. I believe that the supposed reason for this is that once the workout is over and your heart rate has slowed to normal, you continue to burn calories. Unfortunately, this may have been the doctor’s intended meaning, BUT what he actually said was that after your heart stops pumping, you will burn more calories than other workouts. This should not come as a surprise nor as a brilliant marketing point because after your heart stops pumping, you will be dead.
