What’s so funny about this? We haven’t had a good tongue twister in quite a while. In fact we haven’t had a bad one either. This one came from my wife who left it on a note for me at breakfast which I eat about an hour earlier than she does. If you only hear it, it makes no sense because you can’t tell where or when one word ends and the next one begins. Naturally they are all homophones or near homophones. Looking at the cartoon will help but if you only look at it without reading the tongue twister then it will appear equally as weird. Here’s what the tongue-twister is saying: A pawn, the lowest ranking piece in a chess game has some offspring, or children. Despite the fact that this is not biologically possible, in the toon universe, these offspring can be considered as spawn. This is a noun meaning the children of another.
