What’s so funny about this? OK, I confess I’ve been obsessed with banjo jokes recently. Most of the jokes don’t have any wordplay in them so I’ve avoided using them here on this podcast. However today’s joke is just so rich that even without wordplay, it’s well worth discussing. By means of a disclaimer let me state that almost all the banjo jokes I come across and post came from banjo players. Although most ridicule the banjo, it’s all done in good humor and with no malice intended towards either the instrument or the people who play it. And of course, I have to fess up that since I am learning to play, I have become much more sensitized to all these issues. BE that as it may, in the joke we are asked what it means when drool comes out of both sides of a banjo player’s mouth. First of all, drool is saliva, spittle which comes out of your month when you have no control of the muscles of your mouth.
