How does the moon cut his hair? – Eclipse it.

What’s so funny about this? This is one of those silly riddles that caught my fancy. In case you’re not familiar with this idiom, “fancy” in its verb form is synonymous with liking or being attracted to someone or something. In the cartoon we see two young boys discussing the moon. There are a lot of funny folk tales and stories about the moon. One is that it’s made of green cheese. Looking at the moon, sometimes I am reminded of blue or Roquefort cheese. Let’s hope that the moon doesn’t smell or taste like this kind of cheese. Those greenish grey splotches that you see on the moon sometimes are thought to resemble a human face looking down. This has led to the other famous characteristic of the moon known as “the man in the moon”. This is actually an old idiom that you’d say when you wanted to talked about some anonymous, ignorant person.
