What’s so funny about this? This short and rather silly riddle has all the elements of good punning and the photo helps too. We see a bunch of altar boys, all lined up and looking very “holier than thou”. Their hands are together in supplication, or in the shape of praying. Yet their faces reveal the devilishness of all boys their age, roughly10 years old. Altar boys function as servers in the Catholic Mass, or service. They assist the priest with carrying candles, ringing bells and dealing with holy water. I myself am not a Cathoic and therefore not an expert in explaining all the aspects of Mass, but there are numerous examples of altar boys doing their thing in movies, TV and books and it’s really no secret.
