GYM DANDY
IN A GYM, A HEAVY SET WOMAN ON AN EXERCISE MACHINE SEES A FAT MAN BEING LED OUT OF THE GYM BY A DOCTOR AND A TRAINER. “WHERE ARE THEY TAKING YOU?” SHE ASKS. THE FAT MAN REPLIES, “I’M DONE HERE. I’M ENTERING A FITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM.”
What’s so funny about this? How about this poor fat guy? He’s decided he needs to hide out from his workouts. He can’t take it anymore. He still wants to lose weight but he just doesn’t want to stop eating and start moving. He’s not alone. There’s an enormous amount of pressure, especially on really overweight people to get into shape. Some of the pressure is warranted, some of it isn’t. It depends on your age, your weight and above all, your attitude. Then, of course there are those who are so self-critical that they don’t really need to lose weight but exercise constantly anyway.
