FUELISHNESS

What’s so funny about this? The pun in this joke could be applicable to any fuel in any era. It could have been about firewood, coal, natural gas, peat, electricity, wind, sun, nuclear fission. You’ll note that the first half of this list involves fuels which had to be burned (all producing some kind of negative waste product, harmful to the human race) The second half of the list is relatively “clean”, until we get to the end with nuclear energy. Lots of dangerous waste there, perhaps more than the others combined. But nuclear energy is a lot cleaner and safer now than it was 50 years ago, so maybe, down the road, it will be rendered relatively harmless. The two fuels being contrasted in our joke are gasoline and electricity. Even though hybrids and all electric cars are more and more common these days, they are hardly new. In fact the very first one, produced in 1828, pre dates the gasoline powered ones. Let’s clear up a couple of dialect issues here. The picture you see is what we i
