Reporter: So tell me, doctor, how did you manage to master Aikido?
Doctor: It required a lot of patients

What’s so funny about this? This is a pun that has appeared several times in this blog, but never in the context of Aikido. More commonly it would have been about some doctor who feared losing his practice and would go broke because his clients kept dying. He was running out of patience because he was running out of patients. Note the two homophones patience and patients. Today we have a martial arts context, specifically that of Aikido, one of the lesser known martial arts. Usually people think first of Karate, Tae Kwon Do, or Judo when talking about Martial Arts. Aikido is somewhat similar to Judo, in that it requires blending or harmonizing with the energy of an attack and then applying a joint lock or throwing the attacker. Aikido adds the element of preventing harm to both the one being attacked and the attacker. Aikido also has cooler outfits and you can see from the ill
