What’s so funny about this? One of the nice things about being retired is to not have the hassles of carry-on luggage and rushing to the airport to catch a last minute flight. I travelled a lot when I was working and I never checked my bags because in the early days too many times the airlines lost my bags. Plus, I hated waiting for my luggage to arrive at baggage claim. Even if I was going away for several weeks, I’d still pack everything into a carry-on with no more than four days’ worth of underwear. Since I was on company time, I’d just do laundry at my hotel and put it on my expense report. Of course this was well before the airlines went berserko with charging for individual pieces of luggage to be carried on.
