What’s so funny about this? Why can’t all riddles and puns be this easy? Wait, that last sentence is not a riddle, in case that’s what you’re thinking. It’s just an expression remarking on how quick and easy this last joke was to illustrate. I read it. I visualized it, and Boom! Went to toodoo and knocked it off. It’s a simple riddle after all, asking you if you know the difference between two kinds of foods, beef which is roasted and soup made from peas. Should be easy, right? One is meat, nice and solid, cooked to a turn served with gravy. Makes my mouth water, just thinking about it. The other is a liquid, a soup, usually made from split peas, which are seasoned and boiled to the point where they kind of disintegrate into a tasty, liquid, mush, sometimes served with croutons, chunks of ham or bacon which add a nice smoky flavor to the soup.
