Marching and Waltzing

Marching and Waltzing started as a gramophone record show on BBC radio in 1942 but by 1950 featured specially recorded performances by military and brass bands and a light orchestra to play the waltzes. It continued as a regular programme on the Home Service, then the Light Programme and finally Radio 2 before ending in 1984 (It wasn't heard between March 1970 and March 1980 when a similar mix of music was broadcast as 'Brass and Strings').

This edition dates from 4 August 1981 and features the Band of the Coldstream Guards and the London Studio Players.
