Equity 2024 (dancehall / drum & bass)

False Profit is a SF/Bay Area music collective best known for throwing their "Priceless" campout. Like me, the FP crew has always been difficult to pin down musically, often embracing the more complex and challenging end of the dance music spectrum. We bonded over a love of breakbeat and played some wonderful events with them over the years.

I was asked to play their happy hour dubbed "Equity" (sense a theme?). Held at 7th West in Oakland, this venue has a big outdoor space under the BART tracks, just over the bridge from San Francisco. On this beautiful, warm evening, I played some dancehall and drum & bass alongside two other fantastic DJs: Eklektik and Tones.
