Spots Classics Volume One

"Spots" situated in a dark, unassuming side street of Leicester (UK) was a gay club that ran from 1980 until 1986 (when another gay club, "Streetlife" owned by the same team opened immediately in its wake)

By all accounts, it was a small, mirrored walled, yet intimate venue - at a time when gay men faced oppression, prejudice and the very real and present AIDS crisis within the community, people would gather here and forget their worries for a few hours, dancing to a mix of Hi-NRG, Italo, Pop and Disco classics.

This mix is inspired by a Facebook Group "Leicester Gay Scene - Past, Present and Future" where people were discussing the music played there.
