electronic emancipation

This mix stems from my playlist "electronic emancipation" that I created whilst digging through the depths of spotify on my quest to find music created by women, non-binary and trans artists (FLINTA*). If you really looking, you can definitely find a lot of treasures. But the algorithm isn´t our friend. What has always struck me is the fact that when I look at the "what others liked" category on the profile of female, trans and non-binary artist (working more commercially) a lot of white men are recommended. However, women or non-binary artists are not recommended on these men’s profiles. Apparently, it doesn´t work both ways. From what I have noticed there has been a positive increase in representation of FLINTA* djs around the world, on big festival line-ups and in clubs. However, there are many more questions still to be answered and many inequalities still to be deconstructed. Until then I hope you enjoy this mix. It starts relatively slow and then picks up halfway <3
