Recently, I've been thinking a lot about the role that music plays in our lives, and how it can cure the worst heartbreak, or hurt like hell, or evoke a myriad of emotions, or diminish/amplify a particular experience, or provide sanctuary for when it feels like the world is out to get you, or be the catalyst for a revolution.
Music can be a lot of different things to a group of likeminded people, or be the bond between people that couldn't be more different. Music also goes the distance of bringing the world closer together, does the work to remove barriers; need they be political, social, personal, or cultural, and generally seems to be something that all humans agree-on. A good song is a good song, and (pun intended) resonates with us, on a level that is fundamental, raw, and unbridled.
I now understand why there's a song called "music is the answer"... because, for me, in this place, right here, right now, it really is. I hope you enjoy this set, it was fun to make it.
