I treated myself to a USB turntable late last year when I finished my attic conversion and finally set it up. I thought it was time to rip in some choice tunes and mix them together, weekly Rations style I have to admit , in the late 90′s I stopped buying Vinyl for a few reasons:
Money – It was hard to feed the habit on shitty min wage after University
Downloading – it was becoming easier to do, more choice
Good shops closing – Dr Roberts in Belfast closed and the main source of good music in Belfast dried up
No turntable – living in student / post student houses I had no room and couldn’t move the kit about so much
Dance music- I got into drum n bass type dance music and mostly bought DnB records for a few years
So it’s nice to have a turntable again and hope to start picking some stuff up, from ebay and the like.
