From the archetypal Footwork of (the late) DJ Rashad, to its deconstruction and radical re-contextualisation in the abstractions of Mark Fell & Gábor Lázár, writer and (non-) musician Jared Wells VMR mix charts hidden connections, and arhythmic genealogies between footwork, noise and avant-garde composition. The resulting mix somehow retains the disjointed yet incessant funk and urgency of footwork, whilst following its latent trajectories deep into outer sonic realms.
