This mix was completed in the Autumn of 2017. The focus of this mix is to to show how similar elements and sounds exist within different genres. It takes songs from modern electronic, hip hop, ambient, classical, experimental and electronica. Each song contributes to the flow of the mix in a way that I think is cohesive and dynamic. To date I believe this to be the best mix I have made.
The National Philharmonic Orchestra, Nine Inch Nails and SZA begin the mix. It ends with Trentemoller featuring Jenny Lee from Warpaint in a song that is challenging and arresting.
Trentemoller's instrumentation is somewhere between trap and synth-goth. Jenny Lee has a voice that is not typical and her uncommon tone is amplified by the lyrics which are both haunting and unpleasant.
