Leo Baxendale lived in Acre St and was an illustrator for the Beano including Minnie the Minx, Tim McInnerny went to school at Marling in Stroud, he plays Captain Darling in Black Adder Goes Forth and Steep Step Stroud was made in 2018, a century since the end of 1st WW. Stuart Butler a Stroud radical historian added a local 1st WW flavour with the story of Dorothy & Archibold. Local poets Adam Horovitz was born in Stroud and Jeff Cloves has lived and performed here for decades. Flipside performed at the first Stroud Fringe and performers like Emily Barker, Hattie Briggs and Emily Hall have lived or are living here. Hot Feet were a Stroud band who became Low Chimes and are a local highlight.
