Fingers of light
stretch out from the horizon,
combing our dreams with promise
and a new blank canvass.
Behind us, voices, chants, smells,
And music, our ancestors left,
Knowing that one day,
We would call on them, for strength,
Inspiration, protection and assurance,
that what they gave and endured,
would bloom in our hearts.
