Michael Fehr is a poet and lyric narrator. In this interview, he discusses his relation with his work in terms of language, rhythm and composition, the essence of lyric storytelling, and his evolution into creating musical compositions from his poetry, together now with accompanist/composer Manuel Troller. He explores the essence of his particular language origins, and some of the fineness of translating and transposing poetry from German into English. Recorded at the Villa Aurora, Los Angeles, California, December 2016. Thanks to Pro Helvetia for their generous support for this interview.
