A new one for today, venturing in to the short lived world of Big Beat.
For those that don't know of it, in the UK around the late 90's/early 00's, hip-hop & trip-hop breaks, old school acid baselines, scratching, samples and all matter of funk was thrown into a pot and this was the end result: Starting off with some classic Herbaliser hip-hop breaks, funk from Boca 45, trip hop breaks & scratching from UNKLE and the Scratch Perverts, then some classic sample based beats from Mark Summers (and yes, that is the Magic Roundabout you can hear in there!), then picking back up the acid with three tracks from the Chemical Brothers (who i have recently realized can't hold a consistent BPM on their tunes to save their lives!), sticking with the acid with Fluke, then finishing off with one of my favorite Prodigy tracks ever with Crispian Mills (of Sir John & Hayley fame) on vocals, then finishing it all off with a classic bit of 90's dub house from the Future Sound Of London.
Enjoy!
