Mamoussa takes you to Guinea-Conakry’s golden musical era. Soon after independence in 1958, musicians were sponsored by the anti-colonial regime of Ahmed Sékou, the man who stood up against France. By giving his support to the local musical scene he tried to make this fresh new country shine and rebuild itself, using this art form as a tool of revolution.
