On this week on The World We Live In I talked to Ben Chapman who announced that he is running for Champaign County Board District 1. He discussed why he is running and we discussed the need for bipartisanship as well as the issue of polarization in today's politics. We first talked about an article he wrote for Smile Politely that is titled: "For Illini Republicans The Ends Justify The Meanness". I also gave a brief update on the process of the Illinois Equal Rights Amendment which passed the Illinois State Senate last month. If passed Illinois would be the 37th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.
