The Update- December 9th

From New York, the greatest city in the world, it's The Update with Brandon Julien! A tragedy on the streets of East Harlem leads things off tonight.

Some stories talked about on tonight's show were:

1. A mother and her 3-year-old son were hit by a vehicle while crossing an intersection in East Harlem, killing the little boy. The 25-year-old woman was pushing a stroller and the boy was carrying a small umbrella. They were rushed to Metropolitan Hospital, where Bertin Dejesus was pronounced dead. His mother suffered minor physical injuries.

2. Amazon says it has signed a lease for a new office space in Manhattan to house more than 1,500 employees. The lease was announced less than a year after the online retail giant scrapped a deal for a bigger headquarters in the borough of Queens expected to bring 25,000 jobs to the city.
