The Update- April 2nd

From New York, the greatest city in the world, it's The Update with Brandon Julien! It's been a little while since we talked about fire- whether it's destroying buildings or cars. Today, it happened twice within an hour of each other.

Some stories talked about on today's show were:

1. A townhouse complex caught fire in Lodi, New Jersey Tuesday morning. Four attached townhouses caught fire on Home Place just before 6:30 a.m. No injuries have been reported. A cat and bird were rescued.

2. Three women are lucky to be alive after a wild crash in Brooklyn. A car eastbound on Menahan Street, just passing St. Nicholas Avenue, sideswiped a parked Honda CRV, struck another unoccupied car, before overturning and catching fire in Bushwick.

3. A man has been convicted of killing a woman out running near her New York City home in a case that stirred urban fears. A Queens jury delivered its verdict Monday night in Chanel Lewis' retrial, convicting him of murder in Karina Vetrano's death.
