14 years classically trained in violin performance, TOÑO PEÑA is a professional violinist and collaborative artist in eclectic genres including jazz, Hip-Hop, blues, rock, soul, R&B, Afrocubano, Afrofunk, house, bass, and downtempo. He is currently based in Phuket, Thailand.
Anthony “Tony” Peña, 24, was born in Los Angeles, California. Tony began studying the violin at the age of 11 and was raised in a multicultural milieu of diverse sounds. Overtime, this exposure to the world’s music influenced his playing style and fuels his mission to unify people of all ages, cultures, religions, and ethnicities for the universal enjoyment and benefit of music. With a wicked ear for key signatures, TOÑO’s performance style includes improvising violin rhythms, melodies, harmonies, ornamentations, and percussive elements to songs he has never heard before. Tony studies music across the globe, absorbing styles from various cultures to develop a distinct voice on the violin.
