For just over a decade, Oliver Jones—better known to his adoring fans around the world as Skream—has been at the forefront of UK club culture. Alongside the rest of the squad the congregated in the record shops of Croydon, Jones was absolutely pivotal to the origins and emergence of dubstep, the South London sound that went on to conquer the world.
A few years back now, Jones decided to lay his dubstep days to rest, concentrating on playing and producing everything from star-spangled disco to lean, lithe, tech-house. That transition sent Jones' profile stratospheric, and you'll find him playing near the top of the bill at pretty much every major dance-dominated festival in the world.
This month has seen him team up with Damian Lazarus and the rest of the Crosstown Rebels crew for another release on the esteemed imprint. The You Know Right/Minor Smooth 12" is tough and taut stuff, ripe and ready for big rooms and headline sets.
Here's a mix from the man himself.
