Tripple555 is used to known for doing these antagonistic interviews, which you now say its bad radio or Facebook. But as much as you feel embarrassed by those old snotty interviews questions, I would not trade having done them for the type of interviews I'm now doing. My old style is part of what made my interview famous and talk about. It’s not that the interviews I was doing were bad radio but is one of a kind.
Tripple555 interview style definitely wasn't, accepted perhaps for the guests and management. In his earlier days, he took a scorched-earth approach to interviews, needling his guests mercilessly and pumping them for details about their sex lives and lives around their music.
It’s not that they weren’t real interviews but he was more learning about anybody surrounding the artist and the artist himself better. If I had allowed someone to give me thoughtful answer on internet radio, within five words I would have thought my audience was opening their mouth wide said Tripple555. I had always wanted to do interviews that had substance. To do a good interview, there’s a certain knowledge you must bring to the table, a certain intelligence, and a certain empathy. You have to not only do research as I've but also have a sense of what keeps people interested, when to cut them off, when to help them out. It’s a whole process, and you have to labor over it. DJ's and others try to imitate me and its a joke to listen to them copying me, but i do give them a "T" for trying. I'm very good because i was thought by the best... long live Howard Stern.
