This upload was 2nd in the #psychedelic chart and 4th in the #world music chart.

Follow up to the El-Lail selection, here's more middle eastern nightsongs and psychedelica, lined up nicely from way back to very contemporary, it features turkish, armenian, persian, arabic, american and west european musicians ... and it contains some of my favourite late night songs ... hope you share the vibe ...

there's is not one but many styles of "jewish" music, and before the founding of israel changed the game, many jewish musicians were involved in the music scenes in arab countries from morocco to iraq, and Meanwhile in europe jewish musicians mingled with gitano musicians, who picked up influences from spain to india, and here, too, styles bled into each other. so yes, it's all a big mashup, and it has an optimistic/utopian element in it: if there is so much that connects, so why keep on dividing? the single/most "jewish" piece of music in this selection is by banquet of the spirits, though, a composition out of john zorns "masada". songbook. peace
