As this is now in the PROG chart I feel obliged to share the background story. The track composition and mix points etc are not mine … yes I mixed it myself on technics 1210 mk5’s and a djm 600 (or800). This is me attempting to duplicate a large label release in the early 2000’s. (Possibly a Global Underground album -can’t remember exactly). The rough outline of how this happened is: after a good night out and several hours into a day party someone put on a cd …3/4 through I had recognised all the tracks and had my own 12” record of each track so far - so in conversation I said (foolishly boasted) I could mix my own version and it you wouldnt know whic one was the original - one of the random guys in the conversation said ” I have my own recording studio. If you think you can do it, I’ll give you two weeks to practice and three attempts where you can make a mistake and start again from that spot.” .It took 4 attempts and a bit of mastering afterwards but the final result is very close.
