Winter Heating

This one starts in south of France with Samenakoa, a marvelous band blowing a soulfull jazz-funk "Southern Breeze". Then the dancefloor heater disco-funk of the Baker Brothers, and back in Canada with an energic brass "Insurrection" by the Souljazz Orchestra. A classic hip-hop tune by Young MC introduces the Herbaliser, with one of the most powerful tracks from their awesome live instrumental album "Session One". Back in France with Tribeqa and its deligthful balafon and sophisticated rythms. Trumpetist Russell Gunn offers a very jazzy rework of Lalo Schiffrin's "Anita". Another Souljazz Orchestra great afro tune introduces Ghana's afrobeat godfather Ebo Taylor. The end of the mix is a compilation of some of the current most exciting brass bands : UK's Hackney Colliery Band playing a killer cover of Toto's "Africa", german Express Brass Band and its oriental rythms and finally Brass Roots with a nice cover of Inner City classic "Good Life".
