"When thinking of what to present in this mix, I asked myself what Women's Day meant to me and the usual answers flooded my head. This year's theme is #ChoosetoChallenge and I thought of women who challenge the barriers of expression with their music, the ones who say what they want and want what they say. I wanted to challenge myself to make something different. This mix starts out heavy and strong, with a soft middle and leads to a crescendo of dance that takes us on a journey from Kenya, to Gabon, South Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon, Sudan, Ghana with some stops in the Diaspora then back, featuring music from our past to music in the present.
