Nowicki provides the soundtrack to the second Stranger Things mix. Hailing from Glasgow, DJ and producer Nowicki hosts a radio show on Sub City titled Renegades of Funk and runs club nights under the same name. He previously held down a four year weekly residency at the fabled Sub Club where he DJ'd and help run the Sub Rosa parties. Doing at a weekly at the Subby presented a series of opportunities and challenges; from warming up for house music hero Move D to playing back to back with Northern Soul digger Yogi Haughton who’s record collection is eclectic to say the least. Most recently his focus has been on creating his own music and learning the foundations of rhythm through African drumming.
This mix was recorded using two XDJs and a Space Echo and includes offbeat tracks by the likes of BB King, John Carpenter, and Source Direct; blended seamlessly to create a dark melancholic journey.
