This month we welcome back good friend and bossman of the Forefront Recordings label, Webstarr. From his days moderating on grimeforum to launching the Forefront nights in Hull, which played host to some of the biggest names in the scene (namely Blawan and Ben UFO), Webstarr has been in the scene for plenty of time. As mentioned, Webstarr now runs Forefornt Recordings and is putting out some quality tunes like Mella Dee’s recent In The Bits EP and tracks by J Beatz, Grievous Angel and Slackk. With experience comes knowledge, and a very diverse set of influences, that can be heard in Webstarr’s selections both in this mix and in his sets at his residencies at Shinobi and Get Low in Hull. This mix sprawls a wide variety of tempos and genres. Highlights of the mix include Sound Stream’s ‘All Night’, Groove Chronicles’ deep roller ‘Happy’ and some classic 140 tunes like ‘Hunter’.
