Been A Minute

Man, I haven't dropped a solid mix on here in a hot minute! It's been BUSY BUSY BUSY! Now that everyone is operating in a post-pandemic mindframe, the live gigs are coming back hot and heavy and ya boy has been spinnin' that tracks that gets asses to shakin'! It's been great, and exhausting, and motivating, lol!

I got asked, "Why don't you scratch in your mixes?" Because I'm a DJ, not a turntablist! My followers want to hear the songs blended, not cut up. It doesn't mean I CAN'T scratch, but for the people who like what I do, they just prefer not to hear it.

For example, just to test the theory, I did one set at a club in which I did a lot of scratching, and each time I did it, the dancefloor emptied. When I just blended the songs one into another, with some creative flanging, and manipulation of base and mids, etc., the dancefloor remained packed.

So, there IS a place for turntablism, with heavy scratching and acrobatics on the decks, but for me, I'll stick with what works thank you very much!
